بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُمْ مِنْ أَنْفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا لِتَسْكُنُوا إِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُمْ مَوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
And one of His signs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves so that you may find comfort in them. And He has placed between you compassion and mercy. Surely in this are signs for people who reflect.

وَأَنْكِحُوا الْأَيَامَىٰ مِنْكُمْ وَالصَّالِحِينَ مِنْ عِبَادِكُمْ وَإِمَائِكُمْ ۚ إِنْ يَكُونُوا فُقَرَاءَ يُغْنِهِمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ
Marry off the free singles among you, as well as the righteous of your bondmen and bondwomen. If they are poor, Allah will enrich them out of His bounty. For Allah is All-Bountiful, All-Knowing.
يَا مَعْشَرَ الشَّبَابِ مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمُ الْبَاءَةَ فَلْيَتَزَوَّجْ، فَإِنَّهُ أَغَضُّ لِلْبَصَرِ وَأَحْصَنُ لِلْفَرْجِ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَعَلَيْهِ بِالصَّوْمِ فَإِنَّهُ لَهُ وِجَاءٌ
O young men, those among you who are able to marry should marry, for it helps restrain the gaze and preserve chastity. Whoever is unable should fast, for fasting is a means of restraint.

Rajab 1447
Our families introduced us with marriage in mind. From the beginning, we communicated with clear intentions and with the knowledge of Maryam’s wali.
Sha‘ban 1447
Through ta’aruf, we learned about one another’s faith, character, families, and hopes for marriage while observing appropriate boundaries.
Ramadan 1447
After seeking Allah’s guidance through istikharah and consulting our families, both families agreed to take the next step.
Shawwal 1447
Zayd presented his proposal to Maryam’s wali. With both families’ blessing, the proposal was accepted and preparations for the nikah began.
Etiquette for Attending the Walima
Accepting an invitation is among the rights Muslims owe one another. Attend with gracious manners.
